Police brutalises JHS Student; Victim’s aunt collapses to death after witnessing the act

A 63 year old retired educationist has died after watching in pain and anguish serious brutality unleashed on her 14 year old nephew by a Police constable at Agona Nkwanta Police Station in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.
Gifty Essuman, niece of the deceased tells Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson of Skyy Power fm that, on Friday June, 16, 2017, a misunderstanding ensued between two JHS pupils; a boy and a girl of the Abura Rubber Estate D/A Basic in the School bus on their way home after School which resulted in a fight between the two.
The girl whose mother is a police woman reported what happened in the bus to her mother upon her arrival home.  The Mother reported the case to her colleague police personnel at her Station who invited the boy.
Management of the School advised the girl’s Parents to redraw the case from the police Station for it to be settled amicably after the boy had been punished by the School but the parents wouldn’t budge.
On Friday, June 23, 2017 after School, a CID from the Station went to arrest the boy at home but his Father and the Aunt, Hannah Darko(father’s sister) a Proprietress of a Private School accompanied him. At the police station, the police placed the boy at the counter back where one constable Bright Sagbor started brutalising him.
The Aunt who could not withstand the gory sight of the agony her nephew was going through collapsed and was rushed to the Dixcove Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly upon arrival. The police have since remained silent about the whole incident whilst the boy has been released after the brutality.
The body of the deceased has also been placed at the Mortuary for autopsy.
